Take up an interdisciplinary challenge!
Are you interested in broadening your academic horizon? Would you like to see things from a different perspective? Up to a challenge that takes you outside of the box? Join the REBO-UCU honours course!
This course offers you the opportunity to expand your mind by engaging with students from all departments of REBO as well as UCU in a joint research. It will allow you to explore your own interests and let yourself be inspired in a sequence of guest lectures by a range of both professionals and leading academics. Key words will be motivation, inspiration, and out-of-the box thinking, as well as setting up a conversation between the disciplines of Economics, Law, Governance as well as many others.
Examples of research that has been conducted in the last two years of this course are:
- Youth culture and the effectiveness of criminal punishment strategies
- Opportunities and constraints of water supply privatization in Latin America
- The effect of the working environment on profits in times of crisis
- The EU’s ability to act in frozen conflicts in the Caucasus
The course will start in mid-september with a series of guest lectures. After this, the students will form groups on the basis of their interest. The groups will conduct their research (under supervision of a REBO or UCU teacher) during most of the rest of the year, and present their findings to an academic panel in May.
